Girard-Perregaux Minute Repeater Tourbillon with Gold Bridges
Haute Horologerie complications are the cornerstone of Girard-Perregaux becoming famous in the 19th century for its iconic Tourbillon design including three gold bridges. The new Minute Repeater Tourbillon continues to celebrate the Swiss Manufacture’s achievement in ground-breaking watchmaking skills. The 10-piece limited edition comes in a 45mm case made of pink gold, and is powered by the in-house Girard-Perregaux GP09500-0002 mechanical movement. Any serious watch collector’s greatest dream combination of a minute repeater and a tourbillon come to life at the same time in this timepiece with a minimum 58 hours of power reserve.
Ulysse Nardin Anchor Tourbillon
It took Ulysse Nardin eight years of research to create the Ulysse Anchor escapement, which provides a spirit of independence to the Swiss watchmaker’s newest timepiece. For a frictionless pallet fork ensuring time precision, the Ulysse Anchor escapement is made entirely of silicium. A constant-force escapement is born from the material’s lightness and its dexterity gives room for geometrical improvements to be made to the pallet fork, escape wheel and flat springs. Housed in a 60-seconds tourbillon cage, this amazing construction is yet another feather in the cap of the highly innovative Ulysse Nardin, the first brand to develop an escapement made of silicium in 2001. The in-house Caliber UN-178 movement is housed in a gold case, 44 mm in size and is water resistant to 30 meters. Dial-making specialist Donzé Cadrans (owned by Ulysse Nardin) hand-crafted the white Grand Feu enamel dial. The rose gold Ulysse Nardin Anchor Tourbillon is available in a limited edition of 18 pieces.
Parmigiani Bugatti Révélation
Parmigiani and Bugatti continue to mark a decade long partnership. Boys love toys, amongst which cars and watches naturally top the list. Put the two together and behold the new Parmigiani Bugatti Révélation timepiece, one amongst three Anniversary Editions, the others being the Bugatti Mythe and Bugatti Victoire. The design of this horological masterpiece is inspired by super car Bugatti Veyron, a recall to Parmigiani Fleurier’s Bugatti Type 370 watch launched in 2004. It is the first time that the structure of the car’s honeycomb-style mesh grille comprising of tightly-paced diamonds is clearly visible, through this watch version. A dynamometric starter is required for the manual winding in-house calibre PF370 powering the Parmigiani Bugatti Révélation, which comes with a power reserve of 10 days. The unique brown calf-leather strap resembles the tufting of car seat upholstery, sealing the connection to the watch’s source of inspiration.
Hublot “Red Dot” Bang
Exclusive to Singapore, the Hublot “Red Dot” Bang is a part of a set limited edition watches. The grille dial provides a convenient window to the skeletonized chronograph mechanical movement. The 45mm yellow gold case of the “Red Dot” Bang is befitting to SG50, and is paired with an aged leather strap on rubber. Limited to 10 pieces, perhaps it’s no coincidence that it also happens to be the Big Bang’s 10th Anniversary. Why ‘Red Dot’? Coined by Singapore’s most famous playwright, Michael Chiang, who explains, “the term “little red dot” came about after our country was dismissed as nothing more than ‘a little red dot, yet here we are celebrating our Nation’s 50th!”
