Hands On The Harry Winston Ocean Chronograph Automatic 36mm Watch
Looking for the perfect summer watch? Harry Winston has been thinking of you this year. Presented during Baselworld 2015, the Harry Winston Ocean Chronograph Automatic 36mm watch brings together the brand’s technical sophistication and a splash of diamonds for a watch meant for the beach. It’s refreshing to see a watch manufacturer incorporate complications on a ladies timepiece, and the Ocean Chronograph 36mm, with its stunning chronograph and date, is both delicate and assertive in it’s aesthetic and horological nature.
The subsidiary dials are placed stylishly inside the main silver toned sunburst dial and balance each other out nicely with a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. Meanwhile, a discreet triangular date display with slim black numerals curiously curves above the hour of 5 o’clock, making sure it does not disrupt the symmetry of the dial, topped off by the Harry Winston emblem underneath the hour of twelve.
Neighboring the artistic date display window is the third and final subsidiary dial showcasing the Shuriken small seconds indicator in 18K rose gold. The minute track markers are thin short black lines, contrasting their simplicity with rounded blue indications that bring freshness to the dial.
The 36mm rose gold bezel is studded with a dozen iridescent brilliant-cut diamonds, while the watch comes on a white alabaster rubber bracelet closed by an Ardillon buckle embellished with shimmering diamonds. Housed inside, Calibre HW3204 is finished with a circular Côtes de Geneve pattern, rhodium plating and circular graining, all revered characteristics of timeless haute horlogerie craftsmanship, proving Harry Winston’s ladies Ocean Chronograph has all of a girl’s best friend with strict Swiss mechanics to abide by.
