Roger Dubuis Hosts Exclusive Art Basel Miami Bash With Dom Pérignon and Haute Living
Haute horology specialists Roger Dubuis welcomed Art Basel Miami’s A-list to the Thompson Miami Beach hotel yesterday for an exclusive private bash. If guests including brand CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué and supermodel Stephanie Seymore were any indication, it was more than a star-studded affair.
Co-hosted by Dom Pérignon and Haute Living, the gathering showcased the Geneva watchmaker’s stunning Velvet Haute Couture collection and its principal muse, the aforementioned Ms. Seymour. With bottles of rare Dom Pérignon Iris van Herpen flowing and the likes of Russell Simmons, Jonathan Cheban, Geoff Stults, and MoMA’s Klaus Biesenbach in attendance, guests were introduced to the opulent trio of watches in the perfectly celebratory spirit.
A natural extension of Dubuis’ revered Velvet Ladies collection, these limited editions wowed with graphic, split-level dials and dynamic, tapering numerals. The pieces were captured beautifully through the lens of famed fashion photographer Mikael Jansson.
“We are pleased to celebrate Roger Dubuis at Art Basel Miami for the third consecutive year by highlighting the exceptional work of art that is the Velvet Haute Couture collection,” said Pontroué of his latest creations. “This exclusive trilogy is demonstrative of the unconventional, daring nature of our fine watchmaking brand. It is this bold essence which makes Stephanie the perfect embodiment for this collection.”
The event also put the brand new Thompson Miami Beach on full display. The luxurious, retro digs of the 1930’s House provided the perfect backdrop to performances by speed painter Franck Bouroullec and DJ Hannah Bronfman. The performers kept the party going—as they are apt to at Art Basel—well into the night.
