Haute Time Visits The Hublot Boutique In London
There are a couple of places to go when hunting for a new Hublot in London, but none compare to the official boutique on 31 New Bond Street. The exclusive space houses the very best from the luxury Swiss brand, from the Big Bang, King Power, and Classic Fusion collections.
The Hublot boutique, opened in 2011, also houses its fair share of limited edition models, although you’d be hard pressed to see those in store for long. Fortunately, we were able to catch a couple freshly arrived from the manufacture in Nyon.
What’s more, it’s a pretty good spot for some celebrity spotting. The Hublot boutique in London most recently welcomed England’s National football team Manager Roy Hodgson, as well as star sprinter Usain Bolt. Both of them, ambassadors of the brand, presented new collections that are sold exclusively at the boutique, and Haute Time there to interview them.
Boutique manager and self-confessed petrol head Oliver Knowles (seen below, left) is always keen to share his deep knowledge of the brand. But don’t get him talking about his cars, or you’ll quickly get off track.
The interior of the boutique reflects the brand’s taste for contemporary design. Despite being one of the smallest spaces on New Bond Street, the boutique is packed with modern technology, including liquid crystal glass on the display cabinets, which show the mechanics inside the watch. On that note, let’s take a look at some of our favorite models currently available at the boutique:
It’s back on New Bond street, but according to Boutique Manager Oliver Knowles, it won’t be there for very long! The Classic Fusion Shawn Carter, was one of the most highly prized watches in 2014. Last week, I explained why.
The Big Bang is one of Hublot’s most versatile lines, as it is sportier than the Classic Fusion, yet easier to wear than the gigantic 48mm King Power. The Unico Carbon Fiber stands out as the first in the line with round chronograph pushers. Its Carbon Fiber case isn’t bad either, nor the UNICO caliber it houses. This one ticks all the boxes.
Boutiques all around London are getting their own limited editions, and Hublot is no exception. This limited edition King Power, presented in a carbon dial, introduces an interesting color scheme that admittedly will divide opinion. But for true patriots, it’s one to take a serious look at. After all, Hublot collectors from all over the world will be asking you about this limited edition.
