Top Five Summer Watches

IWC celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Charles Darwin Research Station by introducing several new models in its Aquatimer collection, including the limited edition Galapagos Islands. It features a matte black rubber coating on the stainless-steel case and houses the 89365-calibre movement, making it a stand out watch for expeditions above and below the surface. Girard-Perregaux updated its very popular Sea Hawk collection with a nautically themed model. This time, it features the new in-house GP03300-0074 self-winding mechanical movement. This watch measures 44mm in diameter, and is one of the thickest watches, at 17.1mm. But what makes this diver stand out is the depth at which it can be taken: a whopping 1,000 meters! It’s all about the World Cup this summer, and Hublot made sure that those lucky enough to follow the games have a watch to match. Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono is the competition’s Official Timekeeper, and features a 60-second counter, as well as a 45-minute counter to time each half of the game. For those who prefer the serengeti to the beach, here’s the Audermars Piguet’s new look Safari, part of the Royal Oak Offshore 40th anniversary collection. The dial is now a darker ivory with the sub-dials and inner flange in a complimentary brown with matching brown horn back leather strap.
