Haute Time Visits Greubel Forsey in New York

Time Pieces
This week Haute Time had the chance to visit Greubel Forsey in New York City. We saw some jaw-dropping timepieces, which are as much art as watch.

Here’s your exclusive look at what we saw:

Platinum GMT
Time Pieces
This 950 platinum dual time zone watch displays the global time zones in real time from the perspective of the North Pole where they converge. The globe at 8 o’clock completes an anti-clockwise rotation (the same direction in which our planet spins) in 24h. The hours and minutes are indicated on an off-centre main dial, while the 24-second tourbillon is visible at 5 o’clock, small seconds at 2 o’clock, a sectorial power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock, and second time zone at 10 o’clock. The caseback displays universal time for 24 time zones via a rotating disc bearing the names of 24 cities, with light-colored cartouches differentiating summer time (for cities which follow this system).

Tourbillon 24 Secondes Contemporain
Time Pieces
Housed in a white gold case, this timepiece showcases a ‘floating’ natural titanium movement. The Tourbillon 24 Secondes mechanism is visible between 6 and 9 o’clock, supported by a transparent sapphire bridge. The multi-level dial features a raised sapphire chapter ring for the hours and minutes, with 12 o’clock in raised white gold. It also features a power reserve indicator at 4 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock. At 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, two gold plates, hand-engraved with the philosophy of Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey, adorn the caseband. It is completed by a hand-stitched alligator strap with a folding clasp in white gold.

Double Tourbillon Technique Black
Time Pieces
The Double Tourbillon Technique Black is the first Greubel Forsey timepiece to feature a titanium case and a rubber strap. The highly polished steel bridges stand out against the subdued black chrome of the movement plates and bridges. The Double Tourbillon 30°, with its two tourbillons – one rotating inside the other – is visible at 6 o’clock. The hours and minutes are indicated on a transparent sapphire crystal ring, with small seconds at 9 o’clock and a power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock.

Double Tourbillon Asymétrique
Time Pieces
A reinterpretation of the Double Tourbillon 30°, this timepiece features an asymmetric case. Housed in a 5N white gold case, the Double Tourbillon Asymétrique features a curved lateral window showcasing the double tourbillon system at 8 o’clock and the rotating disk of the power reserve at 2 o’clock, indicated by a fixed red triangle. The black and anthracite dial also features white gold hour and minute hands, as well as the small seconds at 6 o’clock, indicated by triangular red hand. Only 11 pieces of the 5N white gold version were produced (with another 11 produced in white gold).
