Blancpain Unveils New Villeret for Basel 2014
The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie may have come and gone, but BaselWorld is still to come! In advance of the fair, which begins March 27, luxury watchmaker Blancpain has given us a sneak peek at the new 2014 Villeret model.
This 42mm timepiece begins with an 18K red gold round double-stepped case and crown. The understated Grand Feu white enamel dial features hours, minutes, a central seconds hand decorated with the initials JB (for company founder Jacques Blancpain), and a date window at 3 o’clock. The dial also features the initials JB in a tone-on-tone engraving at 12 o’clock.
The sapphire crystal caseback showcases the mechanical self-winding movement, which is decorated with Côtes de Genève on the movement bridges and a honeycomb pattern on the oscillating weight. This piece boasts an 8-day power reserve.
It is completed by a chocolate-toned alligator leather strap.
