VIDEO: Haute Time and Zenith Host Celebration With Felix Baumgartner
Last night, Haute Time magazine and Zenith President and CEO Jean-Frédéric Dufour hosted record-breaking skydiver Felix Baumgartner at a special event in New York City. In October 2012 Baumgartner set a world record when he jumped from 24 miles above the Earth, reaching an estimated speed of 843.6 mph and becoming the first person to break the sound barrier without vehicular power.
At the event, hosted at Lavo, 30 VIP guests were invited to mingle and get an exclusive look at Zenith’s new pieces from Jean-Frederic. The highlight of the evening was the opportunity for guests to meet and shake hands with Baumgartner himself. For the event, Zenith Watches took over the entire Lavo club in order to host the private dinner. During the event, guests admired several Zenith timepieces, including the outstanding Zenith Academy Christophe Colomb Hurricane. Guests included Stewart Rahr, Benny Shabtai and his wife Stacey, Haute Time publishers Seth Semilof and Kamal Hotchadani, Empire CLS CEO David Seelinger, Ed Mermelstein, Robert and Alisa Roever, Paul and Jane Schindler, Paolo Zampolli, Michael Kay, Elias Sacal, and Olga Krutoy.
More than 8 million people watched the live stream of Baumgartner’s jump from the edge of space, during which he wore a Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback Striking 10th timepiece.
