Rebellion Timepieces T-1000 Gotham Boasts World’s Longest Power Reseve
The watchmakers at Rebellion Timepieces have unveiled the T-1000 Gotham, a limited-edition watch with a power reserve as epic as its namesake city. The T-1000 Gotham timepiece works 40 days before needing to be wound up again, with a power reserve of more than 1,000 hours – the world’s largest.
This incredible endurance is the result of six mainspring barrels, which generate energy for an over-sized winding lever integrated into the back of the titanium case. The barrels are part of a patented energy distribution system wherein the barrels are wound in parallel by two finely-engineered chains, discharging in series (2 x 3) to optimize the torque and power to the regulator.
Meanwhile the over-sized winding lever, which is harnessed to robust plates which conceal the barrels, enables approximately 10 times as much winding force to be applied than a normal winding mechanism. From the caseback, the lever can be unclipped from between the lugs to be lifted up and out, allowing the wearer to move the lever themselves. A patented clutch activated by a push button on the crown sets the time.
The dial features vertical hour and minute indications, plus glimpses of the three-dimensional movement, which can be customized in a choice black, gold, red, blue, purple. A solid grill panel fixed by screws featuring the Rebellion logo and a geometrically-angled panel at 6 o’clock offer a glimpse of the oscillating REB T-1000 movement, which is pitched at a 39° incline.
A black leather alligator strap and Rebellion buckle featuring a patented folding clasp with micrometric push button regulation completes the look. Only 25 T-1000 Gotham pieces will be available, in either natural or blackened titanium.
