Chronograph Watch

We feature numerous chronograph watches, including the Bentley Light Body Midnight Carbon from Breitling, the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar from Vacheron Constantin, and Omega’s Speedmaster ‘First Omega in Space’.

Breitling have unveiled the Bentley Light Body Midnight Carbon, the newest model from the Swiss manufacture’s ongoing collaboration with the luxury carmakers. This limited edition model mirrors the sleek style of the Bentley’s iconic automobiles. The Bentley Light Body Midnight Carbon begins with an all-black 49mm case, underneath which is a lightweight titanium chassis featuring a highly resistant carbon-based coating. Inside, a Breitling Calibre 25B movement works at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The dial features a dashboard-style display highlighted by red-rimmed indicators, with a central hand that sweeps in a half minute instead of the customary 60 seconds that to an ingenious “30-second chronograph” system originally patented by Breitling in 1926. A variable tachometer, which measures speed and distance, is activated via a bidirectional rotating pinion bezel. Matte black hands and hour makers are enhanced by a luminescent coating to ensure optimal readability. Finally, a black rubber strap with a raised central motif echoing the radiator grilles on the prow of Bentley cars completes the look. Only 1,000 pieces of this limited edition will be available worldwide.

One of Vacheron Constantin’s newest additions to the Overseas Collection is the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar. This model is 18k Pink Gold with a 42mm case housing an 1136 QP, automatic movement with approximately a 40 hour power reserve. The beautiful metal dial stands out perfectly against the pink gold case, displaying the hours and minutes, small seconds, perpetual calendar, day of the week, month, leap year as well as the moon phases. Let’s not forget the chronograph function with a 30-minute counter at the three o’clock position as well as a 12-hour counter at the nine o’clock position. On the back of the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar, we see a solid case back, stamped with the “Overseas” medallion depicting the Italian naval ship, The Amerigo Vespucci. This timepiece is water resistant to 15 BAR and equipped with a screwed-down crown and push piece.

The Omega Speedmaster “First Omega in Space” chronograph is delivered on a brown leather strap with beige stitching.  Inside is the Omega calibre 1861 manually wound chronograph movement –certified by NASA for both flight-deck operations, and use in the vacuum of outer space itself.  Estimated availability is in September; at $5,300.
