Panerai Goes For 40 With New Luminor Marina Quaranta
Panerai is mainly known for its large, oversized watches, but it has also introduced smaller-sized creations in recent years. They now continue on this path with the new Luminor Marina Quaranta. As its name already gives away, with Quaranta meaning 40 in Italian, have these new watches a diameter of 40mm. While significantly smaller than some of their siblings, these new watches are unmistakably Panerai.
This is achieved by honoring the DNA of the brand. Although smaller, they still have the recognizable cushion-shaped case and the distinct crown lock protection device. Despite the fact that it is more modest in size, the Luminor Marina Quaranta is still the quintessential sports watch. It is robust in nature yet with a dash of elegance added to it. This makes it the perfect everyday watch. In terms of performance, Panerai has cut no corners either. The Luminor Marina Quaranta is water-resistant up to 100 meters and features both a sub-dial for the seconds as a date window.
The watch is powered by caliber P.900. This automatic movement is pleasantly thin, with a height of only 4.2mm. However, it does offer an impressive power reserve of three days, coming from a single barrel mainspring. Panerai is launching the Luminor Marina Quaranta in three different versions, all with a stainless steel case. Their difference is the dial, being either blue, black, or white. Thanks to the sandwich construction with Super-LumiNova, legibility is also ensured in low-light conditions. All the watches come on a matching alligator strap with a quick-release system. However, in the next few months, Panerai will also introduce lightweight rubber straps. These are offered in a wide variety of colors, allowing you to add a sportive touch to Panerai’s latest creation.
