Girard-Perregaux And Aston Martin Continue Partnership With Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition

Earlier this year, Aston Martin and Girard-Perregaux, two iconic brands, joined forces. Based on their friendship and shared heritage, they launched the Aston Martin edition of the famed Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges. They are now further putting the pedal to the metal with the launch of their second collaborative piece based on the Laureato Chronograph.

Within the history of Girard-Perregaux, the Laureato holds a unique position. It was first launched in 1975 in a steel-gold configuration with a very exclusive Chronometer-certified quartz movement. As one of the pioneers in this field, Girard-Perregaux was one of the few brands that trailblazed this technology, and its new robust yet elegant sports watch was the perfect canvas to do so. Mechanical movements didn’t join the Laureato collection until 1995 but have been making their mark ever since. The new Aston Martin version of the Laureato Chronograph is powered by an automatic chronograph movement based on Girard-Perregaux’s famed GP  3300 caliber family developed and made in their own manufacture. It can be admired through the display back that is graced with Aston Martin’s logo and name. Such a display back is also a first for Girard-Perregaux on the Laureato Chronograph and allows it to showcase its stunning finish with Geneva Stripping, perlage, polished sinks, and thermally blued screws.

This Laureato Chronograph is fitted with a 42mm large case made from stainless steel. Framed by the distinct octagonal bezel is a dial unlike any other. The diamond-like pattern was inspired by the quilted seats found in many of Aston Martin’s creations. It also touches the brand’s heritage, as it resembles the monogram-logo Aston Martin used between 1921 and 1926. The dial is painted in Aston Martin green, which gives it a vibrant character. To provide it with a sense of depth, seven layers were applied, similar to the paint of the sports cars. The Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition is limited to 188 pieces and available worldwide at their authorized retailers.
