Watch of the Week: Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic

Ever wonder how a watch looks that has nothing left to prove? Then look no further than the Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic! An utterly understated creation that will elevate the pulse of those people who know, but will probably be completely ignored by those who have little passion for watchmaking. That by itself can be a reason to strap this watch around your wrist, but there are so many more!

Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic
With its 42-millimeter stainless steel case is the Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic very well proportioned. Its bezel is relatively thin which leaves more room for the dial. Zenith gave this dial a deep blue color with a sunburst effect. By keeping the hour markers slim and the two subdials minimal, the dial is understated and expressive at the same time. It gives the color and the finish plenty of room to shine, but with a suitable refrain.

Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic
Being a Zenith and a chronograph, it leaves little guesswork which movement can be found inside the case. El Primero caliber 4069 offers there its services with a power reserve of 50 hours, and of course at the legendary frequency of 36.000 VpH/ 5 Hz. Due to the configuration of the caliber 4069, this Zenith forgoes the hour counter and only has the 30-minute counter at three o’clock combined with the running seconds at nine o’clock which greatly contributes to the clean and pure look of the watch. The finishing touch is the alligator strap which features a rubber lining for extra wearing comfort.

Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic
In many ways is the Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic like a plain blue suit from your favorite Savile Row tailor. To the untrained eye it is just another watch, yet to the connoisseurs among us, it is an undisputed masterpiece, crafted with care and with the pedigree of a champion!
