Hublot Unveils Eight New Novelties at BaselWorld 2014

BaselWorld 2014 officially kicked off today, and Hublot wasted no time in wowing the crowd. CEO Ricardo Guadalupe and Chairman Jean-Claude Biver (who is also President of the LVMH Group Watches Divsion) were on hand in Switzerland to help unveil Hublot’s eight new novelties.

Here’s your first look:

The Official Watch of the World Cup, which is a Big Bang Unico Bi-Retrograde Chrono model, will be produced in two limited editions: 200 pieces in ceramic and 100 pieces in King Gold.

The Classic Fusion Tourbillon Firmament is a world first, using the new material Osium (a metal of thesame family of Paltinum). The material is used as a dial on this timepiece’s skeleton tourbillon.

The Classic Fusion Tourbillon Vitrail features incorporates cutting-edge technology with one of the oldest arts: stained glass. The open-worked dial showcases the HUB6017 movement through a colorful miniaturized stained glass window.

The Classic Fusion Cathedral Tourbillon Minute Repeater is Hublot’s second timepiece combining tourbillon and minute repeater complications. The HUB 8001 movement boasts a double cathedral chime.

The Classic Fusion Power Reserve 8 Days is a combination of the classic codes of traditional watchmaking and Hublot’s signature case shape. At just 4.40 mm thick, the HUB1601 movement is one of the flattest in the industry.

The King Power Jose Mourinho The Special One was created in honor of football (that’s soccer for those of us in the US) coach José Mourinho. Known as “The Special One”, Mourinho recently became a Hublot ambassador.

The Classic Fusion Tourbillon Skull is the newest addition to Hublot’s skull series. The case is ceramic-coated aluminium with a micro-blasted finish, creating this unique distressed look.

The Classic Fusion Skull Pavé takes the skull motif one step further, with approximately 1200 diamonds adorning the case and dial. A titanium version will feature white diamonds, while this black PVD-treated titanium version features black diamonds.
