Hands On With The Graff Diamond MasterGraff Structural Tourbillon Skeleton by Graff

The name Graff immediately brings to mind the world’s best ‘Diamonds’. And, Graff Luxury Watches are all about ‘Haute Horology’. Combining the two magically is the Diamond MasterGraff Structural Tourbillon Skeleton, a world premiere launched at Baselworld this year, as part of the jeweller-watchmaker’s new men’s collections.

Visually, it is the case that strikes most, incorporating an incredible ‘Invisible Structural Setting’. This stone-setting technique has been patented by Graff. It is unique in a sense that a special hexagon shaped diamond is flanked by two pieces of trillion diamonds on either side. Further, the framework in 18-karat rose gold reproduces the facets of the brand’s iconic bezel case, inspired by the shape of a perfectly cut diamond.

“When Graff Luxury Watches launched in 2009, we pledged to push the boundaries of horology and diamond design, taking each new collection to the next level,” said Michel Pitteloud, CEO of Graff Luxury Watches. The Diamond MasterGraff Structural Tourbillon Skeleton proves that the company’s vision is moving in just that direction.

“The introduction of diamond bridges is highly innovative and further exemplifies our skill in combining advanced watchmaking with diamond expertise”, Pitteloud continued. Besides the sparkling diamonds, the skeletonised tourbillon function, is what makes the watch even more desirable.

To fit 423 specially-cut diamonds weighing 20.52 carats and 13 emeralds with a distinct design featuring Graff’s Invisible Mosaic diamond setting, and to be the first watch-maker in the industry to set diamonds along the bridges, a 46 mm case size is what the technical designers at Graff chose. That may sound big, but when worn on the wrist it is surprisingly appropriate, due to the Graff’s special setting skills.
