Baselworld 2015: Tudor Unveils Its First In-House Movement In The Tudor North Flag Watch (Live Pics, Specs And Pricing Information)

That’s not one small step for Tudor, it’s a giant leap. The Swiss brand known affectionately as the “little brother” of Rolex is gaining a couple of centimetres and showing signs of maturity, after introducing its first in-house movement in the Tudor North Flag watch.

The new model has everything that’s expected of a modern Tudor watch. It’s a fun, sporty, and yet versatile watch, with some sleeks lines and a subtle date window at 3 o’clock. The matte dial and colourful accents on the power reserve and seconds hand.

But then there’s more. A lot more in fact. The star of the watch is on the other side of the dial, under the sapphire caseback. Tudor’s first in-house movement, the MT5621, is proudly showcased and rightly so. It’s a raw statement, deprived of fancy decorations, but the message comes accross loud and clear. Tudor is no longer “little brother.” It’s next in line.
